Note that I signed out of AOL mail before trying to sign in on Outlook again, because of my husband's similar problem last week. I signed into AOL mail on Chrome, and was finally able to connect to the mail servers. (based upon previous screenshots taken for the record these settings have been successful since Verizon dumped us on AOL. I use POP3, with incoming server /995/SSLĪnd outgoing server /465/SSL. On Saturday, I was continually asked to log into the incoming server.
I recall there were Office updates last week that required a restart. As I have learned from Hal Hostetler’s Feb. Outlook 2016 utilizes “OST” files and without specialized software cannot be converted to PST files. When I deleted the original Outlook 2016 account all calendar and contact entries were also deleted which I could recover. I must have inputted the Incoming Server (IMAP) 993, Outgoing Server (SMTP) 465, and password roughly 10 times.Īdditionally, I made the mistake of deleting the original Outlook 2016 account to reenter the data. No matter what I did I could not receive or send messages utilizing Outlook 2016. After Verizon moved its e-mail users to AOL I was not able to synchronize Outlook 2016 with AOL.
